Built the day the free GIF API died
Vividum started as a problem. It became a conviction.
The problem we kept running into
Building Tabella — our privacy-first messenger — we needed GIF search. Every messaging app has it; users expect it. We wired it to a major free GIF API behind a privacy proxy we were proud of. Then, the day we went to get the production key, we found it was being shut down — with barely any notice. Every messaging app on earth scrambling at once.
The obvious replacement was the other big GIF platform. But that company had been through a high-profile acquisition and a regulator-forced divestiture, and its actual business is behavioral data — tracking every search and trend and selling it to brands. Trading one surveillance dependency for another wasn’t a fix. It was the same trap.
The realization
The pattern was familiar. Signal and WhatsApp are surveillance tools dressed as messengers — that’s the reason Tabella exists. Today’s GIF platforms are ad-data tools dressed as GIF libraries — so Vividum exists for the same reason. Own the stack. No strings. Build the thing you wish existed.
“I hate being a slave to others. People value their privacy — and I bet these companies harvest and sell as much data as anyone in Big Tech ever did.”
What Vividum is
A privacy-first animated media platform: creators upload once, apps integrate through a clean API, and users search and send without anyone logging who looked for what. Not a GIF database. Not a search engine that watches you. A service that serves media and forgets you were there.
Part of Wolf Pak Strategies
Vividum is one of the products in the Wolf Pak Strategies family — alongside Tabella, Coco’s Academy, AfterCut AI, and others — all built on one shared commitment. That commitment is written down: the Wolf Pak Privacy Protection Constitution, a binding charter that governs every product decision, every integration, and every line of code. When convenience conflicts with privacy, privacy wins. Vividum is bound by it from its first commit to its last.
